Welcome to Hello UK Uni! My name is Claudia, and I’m an international student who moved to the UK to study, just like you might be planning to, or have already done.
I created this blog because I remember exactly what it felt like to be in your shoes: excited, nervous, full of questions, and wondering how I was going to figure everything out in a brand new country.
I still remember the day I arrived in the UK. I was tired, a bit nervous, and dragging way too many suitcases through the airport. I wasn’t even sure if I got on the right train. Everything felt new and unfamiliar, the accents, the streets, the food, the shops, the plugs… and yes, the weather was just as rainy as everyone said it would be 🌧️.
But deep down, I was excited. Studying in the UK had always been a dream of mine, and now I was finally here, ready to start a new chapter.
The first few weeks were a mix of emotions. I missed home, felt unsure about how things worked, and sometimes just wanted someone to explain everything in a simple way. I slowly started learning, how to cook cheap meals (mostly pasta ), how lectures and assignments worked, and how to find my way around campus. I made friends, got lost, found my way again, and started to feel more confident.
Time passed, and I learned a lot, not just in class, but about myself. I faced challenges, made mistakes, figured things out, and grew. When I graduated, I felt proud, but also a little scared about what was next.
Looking back, I wish I had someone to guide me, not with perfect answers, but with honest advice and friendly support.
That’s why I started Hello UK Uni, to be that person for you.
